At IPACK-IMA 2006, Zip-Pak will showcase the latest zipper technology and applications.
This will be the first time that Zip-Pak has introduced new technology after the recent acquisition of Supreme Plastic's re-sealable packaging division. The combination of Zip-Pak and Supreme Plastic complements the product, enabling Zip-Pak to offer narrower or wider zippers, broadening the range of resealable packaging solutions.
New technologies that Zip-Pak will showcase include ZIP-PAK® SLIDER for wrapping and packaging, Thermoform SLIDER for thermoformed products, and the innovative Pinch Grip zipper. ZIP-PAK® SLIDER for wrapping packaging is the first zipper technology for wrapping and packaging products. Thermoform SLIDER for thermoforming products is used for thermoformed packaging products such as sliced meat, Zip-Pak's new Pinch Grip. The zipper allows customers to open the packaging of chips and other salty snacks in a traditional way and then seal it to maximize the freshness of the product.
In addition, ZIP-PAK® RETORT enables consumers to keep uneaten products in their original packaging by increasing the convenience of re-sealing multiple servings. Zip-Pak's Powder-Proof zippers provide improved opening and closing of packages for powdered and granular products. Its unique 'evacuation port' technology provides a barrier zipper that keeps unfinished products such as flour, sugar and grains fresh and safe in their original packaging.
Robert Hogan, Zip-Pak. Director of International Sales and Marketing, said: “We are constantly exploring new ideas, researching innovative technologies, and ensuring that the packaging our customers provide is unique in the market and leads the way.â€
Zip-Pak is the world's leading supplier of re-sealable packaging technology and has more than 200 patented zipper products. It is headquartered in Manteno, Illinois and is an ITW subsidiary.
