Dry Lamination

Early cold stamping technology used the dry cold stamping method. The dry cold stamping technology is to process the image on the substrate. The UV glue on the coated substrate is dried and cured with a UV lamp to make the image sticky. Immediately Use a roller to turn the foil onto the adhered image and remove excess foil. The main process steps are as follows:

1. Print the cationic UV adhesive on the roll printing material.

2. Cures the UV adhesive.

4. Peel off the excess hot stamping foil from the substrate, leaving only the required hot stamping text on the part coated with adhesive.


When using dry cold stamping, the curing of the UV adhesive is carried out quickly, but it cannot be cured completely. It must be guaranteed that it still has a certain viscosity after curing, so that it can be well bonded with the hot stamping foil.

Wet Lamination

The wet cold stamping method is to print the image on the substrate and apply the UV adhesive, then press the roller to attach the cold foil and the substrate, and use the UV lamp to dry the UV adhesive on the substrate to make the image sticky. Remove excess foil. The main process steps are as follows:

1. Free radical UV adhesive is printed on the web printing material.

2. Lay the cold stamping foil on the printing materials department.

3. The free radical UV adhesive is cured. Since the adhesive is now sandwiched between the cold stamping foil and the printing village, the UV light must pass through the hot stamping foil to reach the adhesive layer.

4. Peel the hot stamping foil from the printing material, and form hot stamping graphics on the printing material. Because the wet cold stamping process uses free radical UV adhesives to replace traditional cationic UV adhesives; therefore, the initial adhesive strength of UV adhesives is stronger, and they will be sticky after curing; The layer should have a certain light transmittance to ensure that UV light can penetrate and initiate the curing reaction of the UV adhesive.
