The Pearl River Delta will become the world's printing center

The reporter recently learned from the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau that the printing industry in our province has been developing rapidly in recent years. There are more than 10,000 printing companies of various types in the province, with an annual output value of more than 400 billion yuan, accounting for 1/5 of the country's total. According to Liao Xiaojun, the deputy director of the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau, at present, the State Press and Publication Administration has commissioned the Guangdong Provincial Press and Publication Bureau and other units to conduct special research on the printing industry in the Pearl River Delta region, intends to unite Hong Kong and use the Greater Pearl River Delta as a printing industry in China. A special area of development has developed into an international printing center.

Fine print base

Printing is an industry closely related to modern people's production and life. Apart from newspapers and other printed materials, the vast majority of consumer products are also inseparable from printing. Liao Xiaoxuan said that by the end of 2002, the province had 13,875 various types of printing companies, and the number of employees was close to 500,000. According to incomplete statistics, the industry's fixed assets exceeded 52 billion yuan, and the total industrial output value was 42.2 billion yuan, accounting for 4.22% of the province's GDP. The number of printing enterprises in our province accounts for about 14% of the country, ranking first, and the output value has reached one-fifth of the national level.

Compared with other regions in the country, the overall technical equipment of the Guangdong printing industry is relatively advanced. The internationally advanced high-speed, multimedia, and digital printing equipment have been first introduced by Guangdong printing companies, making it the country's most advanced printing equipment area. Advanced technical equipment and scientific management have greatly improved the quality of printed products. Many businesses that used to print in Hong Kong or abroad have been transferred to Guangdong, making our province the most important boutique printing base in the country. The number of printing enterprises in our province has increased at a rate of more than 20% each year, and cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhongshan have also formed relatively concentrated printing enterprise groups.

Unique "three to one supplement"

According to reports, a prominent feature of the printing industry in our province is opening to the outside world as early as possible. "Funded-funded" enterprises account for more than 40% of the same type of enterprises in the country, and "three-to-one" printing companies are more unique to Guangdong. Most "three-funded" enterprises are rich in capital and high in product quality, and they are the leaders of the printing industry in our province. These companies are mainly based on Hong Kong capital. They use Hong Kong as their business headquarters and Pearl River Delta region as their production bases. They have taken over overseas printing businesses and sold them back overseas. For example, most foreign-funded printing factories in Dongguan have adopted the “two ends out” business model of orders and markets. They have invested and built factories in Dongguan, but the competition is not in Dongguan or other markets in the Mainland, but in the Southeast Asian market.

The rise of "three foreign funds" and "three to one supplement" printing enterprises not only brought abundant capital, technical equipment and management experience for the development of the printing industry in our province, but also created a vast overseas market and promoted the printing industry in Guangdong. The cooperation and integration with the printing industry all over the world have created conditions for the PRD to create a world printing center.

Build International Center

In order to implement the requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government for building a culturally-prosperous and economically strong province, the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau promptly proposed the construction of a strong printing province, which will jointly develop the Pearl River Delta region into one of the international printing centers.

To this end, the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau proposed to strengthen the planning and guidance for the development of the printing industry, increase the scale, optimize the structure, and rationalize the layout. According to the principles of inflow and outgrowth, the implementation of dynamic total monitoring of the printing of publications should be enhanced accordingly. Enterprises' entry thresholds; encourage the reform of state-owned publications and printing companies; permit packaging and decoration printing companies with strong funds, advanced technology and equipment, and standardized management to enter the printing field; allow large and medium-sized printing companies to merge and transform small publications that are difficult to maintain. Printing company.

At the same time, in order to meet the needs of the development of the manufacturing and commercial culture industries, we will vigorously develop the printing of packaging prints, especially the development of packaging and decoration printing enterprises for “three foreign funds” and “three to one supplements”, and strive to obtain large enterprises and famous brands in foreign countries and Hong Kong and Taiwan in Guangdong. Investment in the formation of a regional production center in Guangdong and has a scale of benefit packaging and decoration printing production base.

It is understood that the relevant departments are striving to make Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region a special area for the development of China's printing industry and to build an international printing production service center. The survey conducted by the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau under the commission of the National Press and Publication Administration, the subject is “The Status and Role of the Printing Industry in the Pearl River Delta Region in the International Printing Industry”, and it is doing preliminary preparation work.
