Canadian PXL Crosslinked Foam has developed a successful cross-linked polyethylene foam (PEX) and its main application is in the niobium, medical and footwear markets.
PXL Corporation uses "intermittent" extrusion processes to produce foams that require a heat-curing process, initially producing a block-like production port for further processing, suspending the river, and then reprocessing it into different shapes according to end user specifications. PEX foams are suitable for automotive gaskets, hoods, and acoustic insulation. The company has plans to use it as an alternative to EVA (ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer) foams. PXL's goal is to further expand the application to meet different customer requirements.
