A new type of wood-plastic composite wood-like moulding line that was successfully developed by the Wuhan Modern Industrial Technology Research Institute using waste plastics and waste wood fibres was recently introduced. This ended the history of past decoration with pure wooden lines.
The product not only has the advantages of easy processing and molding, such as sawing, planing, nailing and adhesive, but also has the characteristics of high strength, anti-corrosion, anti-scratch, moisture proof, anti-static, flame retardant, long service life, reusable and so on. Its hardness is 3 to 7 times higher than that of untreated wood, and its grindability is increased 4 to 5 times. The cost is 30% to 50% lower than that of wood or plastic, which expands new ways for the value-added use of wood.
