The Dow Chemical Company’s Central Research and Development Laboratory has developed a plastic container that can replace glass containers. This plastic container is made of transparent phenoxy type thermoplastics.
According to reports, the polymer is produced by the reaction of aromatic diglycidyl ether with bisphenols or difunctional amines. Because of the polymer produced, the chain-chain interaction is very strong, so it has excellent oxygen barrier properties and good impact resistance. It is a rigid material, and even if it is used to produce single-layer containers, its oxygen barrier properties and impact resistance are good. It is also better than glass containers.
