The International Electrotechnical Commission was established in 1906 and codenamed IEC . It is the world’s first international electrotechnical standardization organization. After the establishment of ISO in 1947 , it incorporated the electrician department into ISO , but remained technically and financially independent. IEC is responsible for electrical engineering and electronic engineering in the field of international standardization (including electricity, electronics, telecommunications and atomic energy electrical 1 II technology), has 42 member countries.
