The German SID Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie has made a substantial breakthrough in the study of printing control systems. The new machine developed by the company can work at any stage of the production line process such as product separation or further processing after printing. By selecting, the machine can simultaneously check two different points on one side of the printing paper or two sides of a piece of paper. The machine automatically verifies errors in an area of ​​50 x 70 mm2 using photoelectron image evaluation without any human inspection at all. The significance of this printing control system is that it can check the quality of printed matter in real time and effectively prevent the production of defective products. The development project was invested by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs.
