Zhang Hongbo, General Manager of Xuzhou Hongyuan Glass Bottles Interviewed

Facing the glass products everywhere, we have the honor to interview Zhang Zong of Xuzhou Hongyuan Glass Bottle Manufacturing Company. The following is an interview with Zhang Zong by our reporter!

Question: At present, we can see the presence of glass bottles in our daily lives. Whether it is beverages, medicines, cosmetics, pharmaceutical glass bottles, etc. Why does it keep being favored by the market?

Zhang Zong: Glass bottle as a product of packaging, has been considered the best packaging because of its transparent beauty, good chemical stability, no pollution to the contents, high temperature heating, recycling of old bottles, etc. material.

Note: In terms of the entire glass bottle production and manufacturing industry, what is its production process?

Zhang Zong: In order to compete with metal cans, plastic bottles and other packaging materials, glass bottles are constantly improving their production technology, so that the product quality is better, the appearance is more beautiful and the cost is lower. In the case of medicinal glass bottles, after the construction of regenerative glass kilns, the glass melting technology ushered in the second revolution, which is the oxy-fuel combustion technology. In the past decade, the practice of this technology transformation in glass melting furnaces in various countries of the world has shown that oxy-fuel combustion technology has significant advantages such as low investment, low energy consumption, and low pollutant emissions. In the United States and Europe, lighter weight bottles and cans are the leading products for glass bottles and cans, and NNPB and cold and hot end spraying technologies for bottles and cans are all advanced technologies for lightweight production. German companies have been able to produce 1 liter of concentrated juice bottles, weighing only 295 grams. The wall surface of the bottle is coated with organic resin, which can increase the bottle's pressure strength by 20%. In modern factories, producing glass bottles is not an easy task, and there are many scientific problems that need to be solved.

Reporter: Just now you mentioned that there are many problems in the production process of glass bottles. What are we supposed to pay attention to?

Zhang Zong: We still use the medicinal glass bottle just mentioned: the gas barrier property is improved.

There are two major ways to improve the barrier properties of A gas, one is passive barrier, and the other is active barrier. The former reduces the velocity of gas molecules passing through the wall of the bottle and delays to allow the concentration time. The latter absorbs gas molecules through chemical reactions.

A passive barrier has the following two ways:

The first is a “multi-layer bottle” made by co-extruding a high-barrier resin with a 3-layer or 5-layer bottle with a structure of diester/resin/diester or diester/resin/diester/resin/diester. . The second is the “coated bottle”, just as the use of vacuum evaporation or plasma coating technology to produce high barrier food packaging polyester film, this year also successfully developed A coated bottle.

Active barrier of A is to use multilayered or blended technology with oxygen-absorbing resin. Oxygen absorbing resins currently used include OXBAR, Amosorb 3000, MXD6O2S and copolyester O2S.

Although the high-barrier modified A can extend the shelf life of beer to 90 to 180 days, it has the following problems: (1) bottle making is complicated; (2) cost increases; (3) increase in coexistence with barrier materials Recycling difficulties. These problems affect the rapid promotion of A. In addition, the glass transition temperature of material A is approximately 65°C and is only suitable for use in cold-filtered beer packaging lines. For the current mainstream heat sterilization production line, only the heat-resistant pressure B with high glass transition temperature and high strength is used.

Affecting B's development is expensive. At present, the price of B is 5 times that of A. However, B is the most hydrolyzable type of ester-containing polymer and can be degraded under hot alkali washing conditions, so that B can be used as a bottle. And due to the very high rigidity of B, mechanical cleaning does not produce scratches. At the same time, B hardly adsorbs gas substances and does not smell bad because old bottles are filled with other odorous substances. Recently B mineral water has officially entered the market in Germany. Recycling solves the pressure of old beer bottles on environmental protection. In the Nordic countries, which attaches great importance to environmental protection, Carlsberg Denmark and the Norwegian Beer Association have officially used B beer bottles.

The reuse of B has solved the contradiction of high prices. According to the Carlsberg test, B can be reused more than 20 times, which is equivalent to 4 years. According to the current price estimate, domestic production of B for beer bottles, to use 20 times, the price of each one is 0.5 yuan (recovery cost is 0.4 yuan/piece), and use ACTIS technology to improve barrier properties The price of A is 1 yuan/only.

Through interviews with General Zhang, the reporter could not help but sigh that there are so many unknown things behind the original small glass bottle. At the same time, he also sincerely admire the profound knowledge of Zhang Zong. I sincerely wish to express my blessing to Xuzhou under the leadership of General Zhang. Hongyuan glass bottle manufacturing company will gradually grow and become the best company in the industry!
