Recently, the Coca-Cola Company of the United States has introduced a Coke can with a Global Positioning System (GPS) chip. Consumers can use this to “transmit information anywhere, anytime†to get in touch with the company's redemption center. However, the United States military is extremely nervous about this, for fear that this new type of Coke can “eavesdrop†on military secrets, so it is forbidden for soldiers and officers to carry such a Coke can into the military restricted area.
From the outside, the Coke can is obviously different from the ordinary Coke can. It has a concave panel and a red button outside. According to reports, consumers can activate the enclosed GPS by pressing a button, and the Coke can be used as a "mobile phone." However, this "cell phone" can only call the Coca-Cola company's redemption center, and the information it sends can only be accepted by the center.
However, the U.S. military remains highly vigilant about this and is concerned that someone may use this Coke can with a GPS chip as an eavesdropping device, threatening the security of the military base. At present, military bases throughout the United States have taken precautionary measures to avoid the use of such Coke cans for wiretapping.
