The festival features several key venues, including the Zoya Gallery on Ventúrska Street, where international exhibitions are held. Another highlight is the Open Call section, which takes place in an abandoned building above the Urban House café on Laurinská Street 14. The Klarisky Church serves as a third venue, hosting installations, the BADW Design Lectures, the Design Week Awards ceremony, and even a fashion show to kick off the event.

In 2017, the organizers focused on showcasing emerging European talent. Notable guests included Dutch designers Sander Wessing and Olivier van Herpt, Austrian studio Vandasye, Czech designers Jakub Berdych, Tadeáš Podracký, Markéta Kratochvílová, and Kateřina Plamintzerová, French designer Samy Rio, Italian rising star Guglielmo Poletti, and Spanish designer Jorge Penandés—all winners or finalists in top design competitions. Their work was displayed in the exhibition "Settled Waters," curated by Ľubica Hustá and Silvia Lovasová, and they also participated in the BADW Design Lectures.

The site-specific installations featured mainly Slovak artists. For instance, the architectural studio PLURAL (Martin Jančok and Michal Janák) created a piece exploring the concept of space as a boundary. Younger artists like Jaroslav Kyša and Juraj Rattaj presented works that blurred the lines between art and design. A temporary garden was also part of the transformation of the Klarisky Church. Other installations, also based on the theme "Limit," were created by past Design Week Award winners across different locations in the Old Town.

This year marked the first collaboration between BADW and the SELF Festival, which explores the intersections of graphic design, culture, and society.

As always, BADW offered a wide range of activities, from lectures and workshops for both professionals and the general public to family-friendly events and a vibrant music program that helped set the festival's energetic tone.
