On August 5, 2014, Omega and the PGA held a press conference to announce the renewal of their eight-year partnership, extending their collaboration until 2022. Attendees included Okeratta, CEO of Omega; Pete Bevacqua, CEO of the PGA; Ted Bishop, president of the American PGA; and Rory McIlroy, ambassador for the Omega Golf Club in Varadero, which hosted the 96th American Professional Golf Championship.
"We are honored to renew our contract with the US PGA through 2022," said Okeratta. "With the expansion of European and Asian tournaments, Omega has been actively supporting the growth of golf on a global scale. Participating in PGA events in the U.S., including the highly anticipated 2014 PGA Championship, has provided us with an excellent platform to strengthen our presence in the American market. This is a significant investment for Omega," added Okeratta, highlighting the importance of the deal.
Pete Bevacqua, CEO of the PGA, called the agreement the longest partnership in the organization's history. The renewed deal marks a milestone in Omega’s long-standing relationship with professional golf. In 2011, Omega took over from Rolex as the official timekeeper of the PGA, and in September 2012, they were elevated to the status of official sponsor in the U.S.
The PGA in the United States represents over 28,000 professional golf instructors who are recognized for their expertise in competitions, promotions, and facility management. This long-term partnership further solidifies Omega’s commitment to sports and strengthens its collaboration with the world’s largest golf organization.
