Miu Miu Short Films "Seeds" director Kawase Naomi

Seeds is the eleventh in the famous short film series Miu Miu's The Story of a Woman, a series of short films directed by female producers aimed at profoundly revealing the 21st century femininity. Seeds was directed by Naomi Nagase, a Japanese director who won several Cannes Film Awards. Photographer: Brigitte Lacombe Naomi Kawase was born and raised in Nara and graduated from Visual Arts Osaka in 1989. Her films Embracing and Katatsumori received international recognition and awards at the 1995 Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. She won the "Camera d'Or" at the Cannes Film Festival with her first film, Moe no suzaku (1997), becoming the youngest winner of the award. At the Cannes Film Festival, she won a jury prize for The Mourning Forest / Mogari (2007), Carrosse d'Or in 2009 and Film Festival Jury in 2013 . In 2015, French Minister of Culture awarded Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres to Naomi Kawase.
