Nova Chemicals has introduced a new blow molding grade LLDPE resin with excellent toughness. The target market is protective films for agricultural products and frozen food packaging or domestic transportation. The LLDPE resin, grade FPs016-C, is polymerized by the company's Advanced Sclairtech's bimodal, non-metallocene, single-site catalytic process. New resin is easy to process. The melt flow rate was 0.65 g/10min and the density was 0.916 g/cm3. The film with a thickness of 0.0254 mm is said to have a longitudinal tear strength of 350 g, a transverse tear strength of 450 g, a Dart impact strength of 700 g, a tensile strength of 47 MPa (longitudinally), and 44 MPa (transverse).
