Kite Packaging Acquires Burnhead Packaging Supplies

The £4 million sales business marks Kite’s largest acquisition to date

On this day, Kite Packaging officially announced the acquisition of Burnhead Packaging Supplies, a well-established packaging distributor based in Sittingbourne, Kent. This £4 million business represents Kite’s most significant acquisition to date and is set to enhance its presence in the southeast region of the UK.

Burnhead will continue to operate under its current name, now as “Burnhead Packaging Supplies, a division of Kite Packaging,” with its existing team of eleven employees transitioning into Kite employee partners. The company has also taken ownership of the freehold property in Sittingbourne, further solidifying its long-term commitment to the area.

As part of the transition, Burnhead is undergoing a full rebranding effort, including updated signage and vehicle livery that reflects its new identity under Kite Packaging. This change aims to align the brand more closely with Kite's overall strategy and values.

Burnhead has long been known for its strong presence in the stretch film market. With Kite’s extensive supplier relationships and access to a wide range of standard products from its National Distribution Centre, Burnhead is now better positioned to offer competitive pricing and exceptional service to its customers. This combination is expected to drive growth and reinforce Burnhead’s status as the leading packaging supplier in Kent and surrounding areas.

The integration of Burnhead will also strengthen Kite’s multi-branch operations, particularly for key accounts. Paul Mustard, Kite’s Managing Partner, will oversee Burnhead’s activities alongside his responsibilities for other branches in the South East, including a major operation in Harlow and a smaller one in Maidstone.
