The Austin Mini first rolled off the production line in 1959 and was the brainchild of Alexander Issigonis. It was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and was developed in response to the petrol shortage during and after the Suez Crisis of the 1950s. During the 1960s, it became popular with celebrities and was seen in films and on TV worldwide, ensuring its status as a design icon.
Featured in movies like *The Italian Job* and *James Bond*, it became a car of a generation.

Iconic figure David Bowie had a unique mirror Mini, and even Enzo Ferrari was a fan of the Mini. Mr. Ferrari, back in the 1960s, had an Austin Mini Cooper that he used privately, and it is said that his car was personally delivered by Alexander Issigonis.
