Using an inkjet printer to make explosive object detectors

It is undeniable that the inkjet printer is powerful and you can use it to print reports, photos, stickers and even bomb detectors. A few days ago, researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have used inkjet printer technology to produce a prototype wireless sensor that can detect explosive objects.

The inventor of this new technology is Professor Manos Tentzeris of the Georgia Institute of Technology. The project technology uses inkjet technology to provide a detection system that is not only cheap but also easy to mass produce.

The production process of the sensor is designed to print carbon nanotubes on special paper materials and print on a standard ink jet printer using ink composed of silver nanoparticles. What is the significance of this technology?

In many war-torn countries, the demand for bomb detection continues to grow. Bomb detectors are indispensable in densely populated areas such as government buildings, airports and schools. Unfortunately, today's method of bomb detection has only two forms: one is low-cost detonation, resulting in very terrible results; one is through high-cost high-tech detectors. The purpose of this new technology is to bring us an effective way to detect dangerous objects at low cost and at the same time to achieve energy conservation and convenient operation.
