Analysis of the Difference Between New National Standard and Old National Standard of Laminate Flooring

On May 1, 2008, the National New Standard GB/T18102-2007, which was drafted by the Institute of Wood Industry of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, was officially implemented to replace the 2000 version of the standard. GB/T18102-2000 "Immersed paper laminated wood flooring".

Principles and basis for revision:

The issuance and implementation of GB/T18102-2000 has played an important role in the production, sales, quality inspection, quality dispute handling and the healthy development of the industry. However, with the development of the industry and the continuous updating of product technology, some of the contents of the 2000 version of the standard can no longer adapt to the development of the industry and need to be revised and improved.

(1) Prepare standards according to GB/T1.1-2000;

(2) Conducive to promoting the international circulation of products;

(3) Applicable to the current level of production technology;

(4) Provide more space for product and technological innovation;

(5) Scientific and operability combined with the actual situation in China;

(6) to meet the public's demand for environmentally friendly and durable products;

(7) Make it easier for consumers to consume by clearly indicating product quality.

The following situations were mainly considered during the revision process:

(1) In recent years, the number of export of laminate flooring in China has risen rapidly. At present, about 40% of the products are exported to nearly one hundred countries;

(2) The surface molding treatment method of laminate flooring is changing with each passing day, and the market share of embossed surface laminate flooring is growing steadily;

(3) The size and size of the laminate flooring has undergone major changes, completely breaking the market pattern of the traditional specification floor. The rich combination of length, width and thickness has won a larger market share for laminate flooring, such as specifications. Narrow and thick plates close to solid wood flooring have won the favor of domestic and foreign markets;

(4) Consumers are demanding more environmentally friendly products. The E0 dispute in 2005 made the term “E0” popular among the people. After the introduction of the E0 level index in the plywood standard, the market has a strong voice for the tightening of the formaldehyde emission index in the laminate flooring standard. ;

(5) Consumers and manufacturers report that some floors are not resistant to the sun, and the surface color of the floor will change greatly after use;

(6) With the rapid development of the laminate flooring industry, the laminate flooring products on the market are mixed;

(7) The number of wear-resistant revolutions that consumers are concerned about, and the results of comparison tests between laboratories are different.

The main differences between the old and new standards:

(1) Revised the classification, index and test method of formaldehyde emission. According to the current situation of the laminate flooring industry, the formaldehyde emission of the laminate flooring is divided into two categories, namely E0 and E1, and the corresponding indicators are determined to be ≤0.5 mg/L and ≤1.5 mg/L; the test method and mandatory The national standard GB18580-2001 "the amount of formaldehyde release in wood-based panels and their products for interior decoration materials" is the same.

(2) Revised the classification and indicators of surface wear resistance. The actual use of laminate flooring shows that when the surface wear resistance of laminate flooring is ≥4000 rpm, it can also meet the requirements of certain places; the new standard reclassifies the surface wear resistance, and divides the household type into household grade I and Household class II, in which the household I level indicator is ≥ 6000 rpm, and the household level II indicator is ≥ 4000 rpm.

(3) The surface water vapor resistance performance index was deleted. According to the actual situation that the surface of the strengthened wooden floor is generally not exposed to water vapor during use, the drafting team believes that this indicator can not be used as an indicator to evaluate the performance of the laminate flooring. The surface water vapor resistance performance index was deleted when revised.

(4) The test piece preparation, performance index and inspection method of the water absorption thickness expansion rate were modified. The edge expansion of the laminate flooring is strongly correlated with the service life of the product. The test method of the standard water absorption thickness expansion rate of the 2000 edition cannot better simulate the actual performance of the product after water absorption. The drafting group chose to be in line with the European standard EN13329-2000. The program, the new standard revision uses the test piece preparation, test methods and performance indicators of EN13329-2000.

(5) Revised the static bending strength performance index. In the original standard, the static bending intensity is divided into two indicators, among which the superior product, the first-class product index is ≥40 MPa, and the qualified product index is ≥30 MPa. Since the laminate flooring is generally suspended, the requirement for static bending strength is not very high, so the appropriate adjustment is made. The new standard is revised to an index of ≥35 MPa, and the test span in the test method is based on GB/T17657. -1999.

(6) Revised dimensional stability performance indicators. Dimensional stability performance indicators are in line with EN13329-2000, revised to ≤ 0.9 mm.

(7) Revised the surface crack resistance performance index. In the 2000 edition, the surface crack resistance is divided into two indicators. According to the test results over the years, the laminate flooring products can generally reach level 0, that is, the surface is free of cracks with a 6-fold magnifying glass, thus eliminating the level 1 index.

(8) Revised the impact resistance performance index. The impact resistance performance of the 2000 edition standard is divided into two indicators. Over the years, the inspection results show that more than 80% of the laminate flooring products can reach below 9 mm, and the new standard is revised to an index of ≤ 10 mm.

(9) Increased light fastness index and test method. Practice has proved that if the materials and production processes are not properly selected, the surface of the laminate flooring is prone to discoloration during use, which is unacceptable to consumers. According to the requirements of similar products, the new standard has increased the light fastness index and its test method. The performance index and test method are the same as GB/T15102-2006 "impregnated film-coated wood-based panel".

(10) The content of the sand cloth correction and inspection end point judgment for the surface abrasion resistance test is increased. In order to ensure the uniformity of the surface wear-resistant abrasive cloth and the accuracy of the end point judgment, refer to the provisions of EN13329-2000, and increase the surface sanding correction and inspection end point judgment.
