Born in 1962 in Lingshou, Hebei Province, he came from a humble farming family. At the age of 18, he joined the military, where he learned to drive tanks, plant rice, and even made movies. His hobbies were broad and varied—he was self-taught in calligraphy, painting, and wood burning. He worked hard to acquire scientific and cultural knowledge. In 1983, he was admitted to Bethune Medical College, and after graduating, he became an obstetrician and gynecologist at a hospital.
His artistic talents did not go unnoticed. In 1992, he was selected for "military art" training, focusing on painting. This experience further fueled his passion for creativity. In 1994, he moved to Shijiazhuang Television Station, starting as a camera operator, then gradually becoming a reporter, director, and eventually a producer. No matter what role he took on, he always maintained a unique personality—riding a cool van motorcycle and wearing a straw hat without a cap. In 1995, while walking down a street, he saw an elderly person struggling with a belt, which inspired him to create handbags. He spent 30 yuan to buy a piece of leather, and this small investment led to a remarkable journey in craftsmanship.
In 1997, he founded Grass Cottage Culture and Jewelry Co., Ltd. The company's research and development center and production base are located in the Industrial Estate on the southern part of Shijiazhuang City. The site covers 25 acres with a building area of 12,000 square meters. The marketing center is based in Beijing, responsible for brand promotion, nationwide sales network construction, and customer service.
Grass Cottage primarily focuses on leather goods, leather shoes, and jewelry design, production, and sales. The company uses the most authentic natural materials and emphasizes manual craftsmanship. For over a decade, it has been dedicated to creating products that are simple, solid, real, and natural. It has become a pioneer in China's handmade leather industry, leading the trend and shaping the direction of its development.
