The two adhesives introduced by the Arkema Group provide special adhesive capabilities for the extrusion of multi-layer flexible packaging applications. The advantages of Lotader 4403 and 4503 are easy to process, easy to clean equipment, good sensitivity to organics, and insensitivity to humidity. Many polar or non-polar polymers can be bonded, as well as metals and plastics, and primers are not required. The bondable resins include PP, oriented nylon, PET, cellophane, vinyl webs, PVDC lamination, printed films, and the like. Such acrylate and maleic anhydride containing materials can be used over a wide temperature range without causing corrosion or cross-linking during processing.
