Domestic steel drum coating adopts spraying method. Therefore, whenever coating, the volatilization of organic solvent in spray coating production is inevitable in the operation area and its workshop. (1) The solvent in the paint is a flammable liquid, and its flash point is not higher than 28 °C. The flash point is the paint particles in the air and a large amount of volatile solvent. When the temperature reaches a certain level, if there is a fire, the flash will appear in the moment when the solvent just ignited, so it is called the flash point. If the air temperature reaches or exceeds the flash point, there is no open flame, and the solvent will spontaneously ignite when it reaches a certain concentration. Therefore, the reason why the concentration of the coating particles and the organic solvent to be volatilized outside the allowable concentration is not allowed in the air in the operating area or the plant during the painting process. Therefore, it is stipulated that the storage temperature of the painting operation site and the coating room should not exceed 35 °C. When the temperature exceeds 35 °C, it should be adjusted with input cold air. There is no high-temperature heat source in the paint storage warehouse and the painting operation area and nearby, so that the temperature rises excessively.

(2) The open flame in the painting area comes from the burning of matches, the ignition of lighters, the welding guns, the collision of metal objects with water, the ignition of electrical switches, and the sparks generated by static electricity. An electric fire or super temperature and equipment failure of the drying equipment can produce an open flame or spark. Explosion-proof measures shall be taken for the electrical equipment in the painting work area. The reason for the requirement is that the electric spark is not exposed. Painting operators are required to follow safe operating procedures and painting processes, otherwise fire accidents will be inevitable.

(3) In the paint production workshop, the solvent is volatilized in the air in a large amount, and there is a solvent powder or a solvent-free paint powder, which is mixed with air. When the combustible gas mixture reaches a certain concentration in the air, In case of fire, it can burn and explode. The explosion flash point at this certain explosion concentration is the explosion limit, also known as the lower explosion limit. The highest concentration of explosive flash point is called the upper explosion limit. If the volatilized combustible gas is too small in the mixed gas, the air absorbs the heat released from the explosion point, so that the explosive heat of the explosion zone is no longer diffused, and only the combustible combustible gas can be burned at this time. If the flammable gas is mixed into the air to make the concentration of the mixed gas too high, the oxygen in the air is greatly reduced, and if there is not enough oxygen, it will not explode, so the concentration of the flammable mixed gas in the air is too low or too high. They will not explode, but they may burn. Therefore, in the process of coating the steel drum, it is necessary to strengthen the air discharge in the workshop and the paint drying oven so that the concentration of the combustible mixed gas does not reach the lower explosion limit.

In recent years, in order to eliminate environmental pollution and ensure the health of operators, the relevant state departments have prescribed and promoted the use of water-based detergents, which are mainly non-ionic surfactants, with a small amount of active substances and anti-rust substances combined. to make. The concentration of the water is adjusted to be a new type of degreaser which is alkaline or neutral, non-toxic or slightly toxic to individual varieties. However, the degreasing process of the surface treatment before the coating does not eliminate the treatment methods such as the lye treatment solvent and the solution treatment. These chemical solvents have varying degrees of toxicity to the operator. During operation, not only will it be corroded on the body, it will corrode the skin, and it will burn and corrode the skin. It is also the volatilization vapor and volatile matter of these substances. The inhalation by the operator is very toxic. Therefore, the operation should wear multiple layers of acid mist vapor and hydrogen released by the treatment reaction to stimulate the trachea and cause damage to other tubes, so wear an acid-resistant rubber apron, gloves, masks, overalls, work caps, acid-resistant rubber whip, etc.

A large amount of organic solvents in the coating, such as xylene, acetone, and alcohol solvents, are volatilized, and inhalation is unavoidable in the operating area. Paint particles scattered in the air are also inhaled, and the necessary personal protection is provided to minimize the inhalation of these harmful substances, which is beneficial to personal health and safe production. Therefore, in the painting, personal protection must be carried out. Every operator should not neglect to be more afraid of trouble and not to carry out personal protection at will. The volatilization and scattering of paints and thinners are harmful to the human body, except for the respiratory tract such as the trachea and lungs. It also harms the stomach and kidneys. If it is in contact with the coating solvent for a long time, the skin will be chapped, and a special drinking water should be set up in the production plant. Drink water to eat at the operation site, bathe in time, and keep clean and quickly relieve fatigue.

The paint warehouse and painting workshop of the barrel factory is of course the key place for safety fire and explosion prevention. Fireworks should be strictly prohibited. Do not modulate and color paint in the paint warehouse, isolate and keep away from fire or heat source, and the motor vehicle is not stored or started nearby. For operators, companies should be given regular physical examinations.
