Preparation of salt spray test chamber liquid: dissolve sodium chloride in water with at least three grades of purity in accordance with GB / T 6682, with a mass concentration of (50 ± 5) g / L. Sodium chloride should be white, with a mass fraction ≥99.5%, and basically free of copper and nickel, and with a mass fraction of sodium iodide ≤0.1%.

5.2 The pH of the test solution (5.1) should be adjusted so that the pH of the spray solution collected in the test box is between 6.5 and 7.2. When it exceeds the range, it can be adjusted by adding analytical pure hydrochloric acid or sodium carbonate solution.

Note: It should be noted that the pH value may change due to the loss of carbon dioxide in the test solution during spraying. This change can be avoided by reducing the carbon dioxide content of the solution, for example, before adding the solution to the salt spray test chamber, it is heated to above 35 ° C or with a freshly boiled prepared solution; It should be filtered before to prevent the solid matter from clogging the nozzle.

Salt spray test box structure:

1. The salt spray test chamber should be made of or lined with materials that are resistant to corrosion by saline solution, and should have a cover to prevent condensation from dripping onto the test panel. To ensure uniform spray distribution, the volume should not be less than 0.4m3.

2. The size and shape of the salt spray test chamber should be such that the amount of solution collected by the spray collector (6.4) is within the limits specified in 10.2. Salt spray boxes with a volume greater than 2m3 should be carefully considered in design and structure for ease of operation. The factors that should be considered are listed in Appendix B.

3. Constant temperature control element, the temperature should be controlled by the constant temperature element in the box, so that the components in the salt spray test box are kept within the specified temperature range. The element should be at least 100mm away from the box wall. The thermometer should be placed inside the box as a whole, its distance from the four walls, the box top and the box end should be more than 100mm, and can be read outside the box.
