Just five steps to learn to use the thermal shock test machine

Every piece of equipment requires a proper testing method, and the thermal shock test machine is no exception. But what exactly is the process for using a thermal shock test machine? How does it differ from other types of test chambers? To help you understand better, our expert technicians have put together a clear and practical "five-step" guide to walk you through the entire process.

1. Pre-treatment: Before starting the test, the sample should be placed in a standard environmental condition until it reaches a stable temperature. This ensures that the initial state of the sample is consistent and reliable.

2. Initial Testing: The sample is then compared against the standard requirements. If it meets the criteria, it is moved directly into the cold chamber for the next phase of testing.

3. The Actual Test:

- First, the sample is placed in the test chamber according to the standard procedure. The internal temperature is gradually increased to the set point and maintained for a specific duration, allowing the sample to reach a stable temperature. This time can vary depending on the size and type of the sample.

- After the high-temperature phase, the sample is quickly transferred (within 5 minutes) to a low-temperature chamber set at -55°C. It remains there for one hour or until the sample stabilizes, whichever comes later.

- Then, the sample is moved back to a high-temperature chamber, again within 5 minutes. It stays there for another hour or until it reaches a stable temperature.

- This cycle is repeated three times. The exact timing may vary slightly depending on the sample size and the capacity of the test chamber.

4. Recovery Phase: Once the test is complete, the sample is removed from the equipment and allowed to return to normal atmospheric conditions. It is left to stabilize until its temperature matches the surrounding environment.

5. Final Evaluation: After recovery, the sample is inspected and tested based on the standard specifications and any damage observed during the process. This helps determine whether the product can withstand the extreme thermal shocks it was subjected to.

This five-step process gives a comprehensive overview of how a thermal shock test machine operates. It's a summary based on the real-world experience of our engineers at Dongguan Ai Siwei. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us. We're here to help!

Thermal shock testing is an essential part of quality assurance, especially for products that are expected to perform reliably under extreme temperature changes. Whether you're in the electronics, automotive, or aerospace industry, understanding this process can greatly improve your product’s durability and performance.
