Translucent paper is different from ordinary paper, and its printing effect is unique. It can make printed information more clear, products more mysterious, more attractive appearance packaging. Translucent paper is generally stiffer and stiffer than uncoated paper that does not contain wood pulp. In the papermaking process, translucent paper is easy to dry, it contains more fibers, but there are few fillers, so the transparency is very good, but because of its unique papermaking and drying methods, its manufacturers are very few. So the price is also more expensive.

Translucent paper printability

For translucent paper, the main printing method is offset printing. The number of printing lines should be controlled at 133 to 150 dpi, and the maximum should not exceed 200 dpi. Like plain paper, the printing environment of translucent paper is best controlled at a relative humidity of 50% and a temperature of 24°C. If the translucent paper is pre-placed in an environment without temperature and humidity control, it should be placed in a pre-adjusted temperature and humidity environment for 24 hours or longer when it is shipped to the pressroom. Translucent paper should be kept ventilated during non-loading, wrapped in plastic bags during transport, and covered when not in use to avoid contamination of the paper or loss of moisture.

Like plastic films, the drying method for printing inks for translucent papers is to dry the oxidized conjunctiva instead of osmotic drying, so it is best to use fast drying inks. But avoid using high-temperature drying techniques, such as infrared drying, because translucent paper curls more easily than plain paper. The proofing is usually done with a test ink prior to the official printing. Using a common ink may increase the drying time by one week. Using a background color removal technique can reduce the drying time.

In order to prevent the ink drying time from prolonged or the paper is deformed, the ink in the oil-in-water state should be kept to a minimum, and the wetting amount can also be reduced by controlling the pH of the fountain solution to 5-6 to increase the amount of ethanol to 13 ~15% to reduce the amount of water on the plate, but these methods must be strictly controlled so as not to change the ink properties.

When printing, in order to prevent the translucent paper on the back of the dirty can be sprayed on the fineness of 15 ~ 20μm powder, after printing, can be printed on it with a layer of UV Varnish to increase the gloss of the print, but to avoid Use water-based emulsion varnish and print only after the ink has dried.

When printing with translucent paper, the amount of paper to be fed and the amount of paper received should be as small as possible. After printing, the prints should be stored in small paper piles.
