Photoshop configuration tips

15 Photoshop configuration tips, I hope to help new introductory students.

1. In "Edit> Preferences> File Processing [Ctrl + K, Ctrl + 2]", you can set the number of recently opened files displayed in the "File> Recently Opened Files" submenu. Photoshop will secretly keep track of the last 30 files, but it will ignore the number you specify: it will only display a few items you specify. In fact, you can increase the number of recent files displayed in it, so that you can quickly view.

2. Photoshop requires a scratch disk that is at least three to five times the size of the largest image you plan to process-no matter how large your memory is.

For example, if you plan to process a 5MB image, you need at least 15MB to 25MB of available hard disk space and memory.

3. If you do not allocate enough temporary disk space, Photoshop's performance will be affected. Nie memory occupied by Photoshop is limited by the available temporary disk space. Therefore, if you have 1GB of memory and indicate that Photoshop can use 75% of it, but only 200MB can be used as a temporary disk at design time, then in most cases, Photoshop will use 200MB.

Note: To get the best performance from Photoshop, set the maximum amount of physical memory usage between 50% and 75%. [Ctrl + K, Ctrl + 8] (Edit> Preferences> Memory and Image Cache). You should not set Photoshop's scratch disk [Ctrl + K, Ctrl + 7] (Edit> Preferences> Plugins and scratch disk) in the same partition as your operating system, because doing so will make Photoshop and you Of operating systems are competing for available resources, which will result in overall performance degradation.

4. Press the Ctrl and Alt keys when you open Photoshop, so you can change its temporary disk before Photoshop loads.

5. To restore all preferences to default values, press Ctrl + Alt + Shift immediately after opening Photoshop or ImageReady. A dialog box will appear asking you to confirm that you need to reset.

6. Normally, when you select a historical record and then make changes to the image, all the records under the activity record will be deleted, or more accurately, replaced by the current record. However, if you enable the "Allow non-linear history" option in the "History" floating panel, you can select a record, make changes to the image, and then the changes will be attached to the "History" floating At the bottom of the panel, instead of replacing all the records under the activity record. You can even delete a record without losing any records below it.

Note: The color of the horizontal line between the historical records indicates their linear relationship. Splitting with white indicates linear history, and black indicates non-linear history.

A non-linear history is not only very memory intensive, it is also very difficult to understand.

7. You can use the "Image Preview" option [Ctrl + K, Ctrl + 2] in "Edit> Preferences> File Processing" to save the customized icon and preview the image of the Photoshop document:

"Always save": Save a custom icon or image preview (in the "Image" Properties dialog box of the Photoshop "Image" tab) to your image.

Note: Enabling image preview usually increases the file size by about 2KB.

"Ask when saving": allows you to trigger the "thumbnail" option in the "save as" dialog box.

Note: This option is not really asked when saving; it just makes the "thumbnail" option available when you save the image.

"Always not save": Disable image preview and custom icon. This option also disables the "thumbnail" option in the "Save As" dialog box.

Tips: You can trigger the generated image preview through the "Generate Thumbnail" option in the "Image" tab of the "Properties" dialog box of the image in Photoshop. [next]

If it is a 24-bit image, for example, when the screen resolution is 72dpi, use:

File size = width × height × 3/1024

Tip: Use 1024 to remove (KB / MB) to determine the file size in MB.
