Alcon, USA, extends the use of tamper-evident systems to fresh products

The company's EZ-400 and EZ-650 machines can apply tamper-evident seals on two closed clamshell and large pallet packages in the production industry.

The tamper-evident band allows packagers and processors to ensure that their products are not contaminated and undamaged. At the same time, the use of tamper-evident seals on the side seals of two closed clamshell and large tray packages can eliminate Axon said that the package was automatically popped during transport.

Both machines can enclose a roll of tape or some sleeves for foil or plastic packaging. The maximum cuff width that the EZ-400 can handle is 400mm. It is designed to accommodate products from 3-11/16" to 9-7/8" width. The EZ-650 has a sleeve with a lay-flat width between 150mm and 650mm. It is designed to accommodate products from 3-1/16" to 16-3/16" wide.

Both systems are fully automated, continuous motion units. This machine can be integrated into existing production lines.

Axon also provides a complete application system, including applicators, conveyor belts and thermal tunnels.

Axon produces packaging products for the food, dairy products, beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and fragrances, personal care products, nutritional products, chemicals and industrial markets.

The sales of pre-cut vegetables and fruits have grown a lot in the past decade as consumers seek convenient and healthy foods. The pre-cut lettuce market is a good example.
